Nida’s practice focuses on insurance defence litigation involving professional liability, occupiers’ liability, personal injury, professional regulation, and commercial host claims.

Nida is also a member of the firm’s regulatory practice group, assisting in the defence and representation of health care professionals in complaint and discipline proceedings before their professional Colleges.

Prior to joining Jones Litigation, Nida practiced at a litigation boutique in downtown Toronto where she maintained a general commercial and civil litigation practice, and worked at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. She completed her articles at another insurance boutique in Toronto after summering with legal services at the Centre for Addictions and Mental Health and the Queen’s Prison Law Clinic. Nida has appeared before the Superior Court of Justice, Small Claims Court, and various administrative tribunals, and has assisted in matters before the Ontario Court of Appeal.

Nida holds a Bachelor of Arts and Science degree from McMaster University where she graduated suma cum laude and received awards for academic excellence. She obtained her J.D. from Queen’s University, where she volunteered extensively with Pro Bono Students Canada and Queen’s Legal Aid.

Outside of her practice, Nida is an active volunteer with the Refugee Sponsorship Support Program, Pro Bono Ontario, and Advocates Abroad. She is also an executive member of the Ontario Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division and Health Law Section, and sits on the Research Ethics Board at Sunnybrook Hospital.
